PLAN,

Today i went into the cyber bullying organization to see if there was anything to do to contact more information. I found another link so people can join and stay connected with people that have suffered from cyber bullying. My plan is to get more research about cyber bullying and get more graphs or more in depth data. People need to know what cyber bullying can lead to, so they can be familiar with the ways to prevent it. I also want to get more familiar with iMovie because i have never used it  nor made a movie before.
Next time, i will gather graphs and data before researching simple facts about cyber bullying. I would rate myself a six on Criterion F because i understand what my topic is about and that i will need to create a movie with it. Therefore, this is my plan.

DESIGN BRIEF!

Problem: People all over the world communicate with other people negatively, and cause them to commit suicide.

What is the general problem your group is trying to solve? My group is trying to solve the problem of cyber-bullying to stop or prevent it from happening.

Concept: (What do you want the user to think about)? Think about the negative effects of cyber-bullying and how it can harm a person's morale.

What message do you want the user to get? That cyber-bullying is spiteful and shouldn't happen anymore in the world.

Digital Footprint.

I can create a positive digital footprint by making a video that states ways to prevent cyber bullying. Cyber bullying is a very spiteful act that people now a days still do. Bullying gets you no where, and especially cyber bullying.  If i make a video with iMovie i can make a creative video about how cyber bullying can ruin someone's life and cause depression. With that, i would like to change people's perspective on cyber bullying. I wouldn't want my future college to see any pictures of me on google because that isn't respectful and they'd think i'm rare.

RESEARCH/FACTS .

 Digital Etiquette:

  1. Nearly 42% of kids have been bullied online and almost one in four have had it happen more than once.
  2. Among this percentage, being ignored and disrespected were the most common forms of cyber bullying.
  3. Nine out of ten middle school students have had their feelings hurt online.
  4. About 75% have visited a Web site bashing another student.
  5. Four out of ten middle school students have had their password(s) stolen and changed by a bully who then locked them out of their own account or sent communications posing as them.
  6. About 21% of kids have received mean or threatening e-mails.
  7. The psychological and emotional outcomes of cyber bullying are similar to real-life bullying outcomes, except for the reality that with cyber bullying there is often no escape. School ends at 3 p.m., while the Internet is available all the time.
  8. The primary cyber bullying location where victimizing occurs, at 56%, is in chat rooms.
  9. Girls are about twice as likely as boys to be victims and perpetrators of cyber bullying.
  10. About 58% of kids admit someone has said mean or hurtful things to them online. More than four out of ten say it has happened more than once.
  11. Cyber bullying has increased in recent years. In a national survey of 10-17 year olds, twice as many children indicated they had been victims and perpetrators.

"INVESTIGATION-TOPIC."

I chose digital etiquette because i would like to persuade student (with my video) that internet conduct is important. And that cyber bullying is bad, and nobody should participate with that.  Digital etiquette is a very important topic to discuss with students about the negative affect it can cause to human populations.

EVALUATION ON EVERYTHING.

The investigation comparison went well for me because that was the chance i had to compare all the different tools. I compared the comic master and the 3-D model to determine which one would be better for me. I also took the simplicity for the 6th graders into consideration because i wanted them to use something that was easy to understand. During the investigation stage i had to analyze the problem and answer the question. The question was to help 6th graders understand the purpose and stages of the design cycle.  The design stage i had to design the product or solution. I decided to go out and design the comic master; at least one of the slides or spaces. It was about a woman there asking the villain if he knew what the design cycle was, and what it consisted of. The plan stage was to plan a product or solution. There i had to plan all of the time management. The time management was to organize the amount of minutes/time i would consume each day. I had to plan all of the things i was going to do, and determine how much time each would take. My total was five hundred and ten minutes, so i had to spread each individually. I personally think the plan stage is a very important stage in the design cycle because that's when you have to organize and plan everything in order to know what to do the next day ,or before the project is due.  The create stage in my project worked out very well because even if i had to mess with the settings and everything, i still accomplished the comic book. At first i insisted on creating my product, but it wouldn't save. Then, i began getting frustrated because i was doing the work for nothing. In other words, it didn't save until the next day i came in class the work finally decided to save to comic master. Thank goodness. In addition, even if i was impatient about the comic master website i didn't give up and never stopped trying. I used appropriate techniques and equipment to create my solution. The comic master began getting easier the more i messed with it. It took me two days to complete the final product. Then the evaluate stage of my project  was to make a survey of the 6th graders about the questions to test if my product explained everything they needed to know. I evaluated the use of the design cycle, and evaluated the product or solution. I ended up making six questions in total so that the sixth graders could answer them an get a hundred cause of my project ;) In conclusion, i would rate myself a six on attitudes of technology because i believe i was really motivated to get this project done. I was positive about my project to be successful since the day I started. Also, i provided help and assistance to my teammates when they didn't understand a certain concept.

Accomplishments.

Today i was able to create the comic book, and i was able to finish my questions. :)

HW;IA-PART II.

1. How can my learning serve my community?

Learning can help my community in a variety of ways. It can serve my community spiritually because they'll feel good about my learning.

2. How can your future projects become better? My future projects can be better by having more time to work on the create stage of the project. Reviewing all my objects and revising what they do can help my final product be better.
3. What have you learned about yourself and what you will continue to do or not do and why? I've learned that i am very determined to finishing my work, and i don't slack off. I will continue to be motivated to finishing all my work. But i will not continue to use comic master because i learned that there are better resources out there.
4. How do you feel about your final product? What would you rate yourself on the Rubric scale of 1-6 for each part of the Assessment Criterion? I feel pretty confident with my final product because i know i explained everything thoroughly to the point where the sixth grader will have no problem understanding. I will rate myself a six on the Rubric scale for each of the assessment criterion because i worked independently and followed all the class rules.
5. What would you do differently in regards to your planning and execution of your plan? I will plan more thoroughly so i can make my project more precise, and once i feel that I'm ready i will execute my plan and begin on the design stage of the design cycle.

EVALUATE;

DESIGN CYCLE SURVEY:
1)How many steps does the design cycle have in total?
2)What is the first step on the design cycle?
3)What is the second step of the design cycle?
4)What is the third step of the design cycle?
5)What is the fourth step of the design cycle?
6)What is the purpose of the design cycle?

Create'

Today i created a comic book because it was simple to make. Sixth graders will have fun reading it, and they'll remember everything. Editing the backgrounds and placing the characters, and adjusting the zoom was interesting for me. After I'll give the students the design cycle survey they will receive a hundred because everything they needed to know was on the comic book. Therefore, i rate myself a six out of six.

work.

Today i created six comic strips based on my understandings of the design cycle. I created a theme with the backgrounds. First she;s in an office then she drives to the streets.; then finally goes to the sky scra pers to fight the guy. AFter that she'll go to a room to conclude the design cycle specifications.

Design Brie& Design Specifications;

10. Write a short statement of what you are going to make, why you are going to make it, and for whom you are making it.
-For my project, i am going to crate a Comic Book that describes the design cycle in a elaborated way. A sixth grader will not be baffled because i'm going to make it simple so that they won't have trouble understanding it.
Formulate a Design Specification

11. What are the requirements for this assignment?
-My project has to be elaborated and precise, and i it supposed to spread the message across in two minutes.

12. What are the limitations you have with this assignment?
-One of the limitations would be time; because i personally believe that two minutes IS NOT enough time to express the info on my project.

13. How will you "test" your project?
-I will test my project by giving out surveys and having the sixth graders write reviews about my project in general.

DESIGN SPECIFICATIONS

-Teach a sixth grader the process of the design cycle.
-Make it short and simple so they'll understand easily.
-Sixth graders will be able to understand the design cycle.
-About six pages long on Comic Book.
-Ability to use while being offline.
-Ability of being able to complete it before the due date.

Test
-The way i will test my project is by giving them a survey, so i can see how well they understood my project.

INVESTIGATION SUMMATION.

These last two weeks i've been working on my investigation process. I started analyzing two tools and coming up with a conclusion of which one i want to choose. Since i chose Comic Book because of it's elaborated theme settings i would rate myself a 5-6 because i described detailed method to evaluate the product/solution against the design specification. I also gave multiple examples of the comparison of the two tools. Therefore, that is why i believe i deserve a rating of 5-6.

INVESTIGATION COMPARISON. ;*

Comic Book
The number i gave for theme is a 4 because in Comic book you can create different backgrounds. People like different variety of stuff so when they see a nice background their eyes will be entertained immediately. Variety and theme are essential when looking at the purpose of the project. The background setup has more variety and the 3-D model link. Compared to the 3-D model ,the Comic Book has much more options. With comic Book i will be more focused on finding a perfect background and theme. Themes and colorful backgrounds is what i think is going to be most appreciated by a sixth grader. The 3-D model  is very vague and plain to my eyes thats why i gave theme a higher rating for this one than for the 3-D model. The reason why i rated this a four because i believe the backgrounds will be very pretty.

The number i gave to creativity is five because the Comic book has a lot of that within the website. In order to create a book ;of course its going to have a lot of creativity! The 3-D model also has plenty creativity but it does not have as much as the Comic Book. Creativity says a lot about a person personality. Even the website structure of Comic Book looks very attractive and creative ,so it motivates me to choose this instead of the 3-D model tool. Also, creativity is personally my key focus because i believe it's what triggers a persons attention. It is essential if you want to get a good grade on any project or task. Everyone should strive for creativity in this design cycle project. The reason why i gave creativity a five is because a comic book will spread tons of color!

Finally, the number i gave to popularity is a four. The 3-D model website probably doesn't have as many users as the comic book because that website didn't attract me to it. Most of the people i've seen also are doing Comic book so that indicates that it is "popular." I'm not sure if thats a good thing because i would prefer it if mine was the only one ,so it can be unique.  But it doesn't matter in this case. I haven't heard or seen about anybody doing the 3-D model tool. Which kind of gets me thinking because maybe that website isn't good quality. Hopefully, if the kids know that i'm using a tool that is most used by people then they will be more interested afterwards. The reason why i rated popularity a four is because alot of people are doing the Comic Book.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
3-D Model

The number i gave for theme for the 3-D model was a three simply because i don't think it offers that much ideas of the background settings like the Comic Book. It offers "real-world coordinates" so you can scale it to an actual real life figure.  The 3-D model has a boring theme setup because it doesn;t really explain the colorful backgrounds. Comic book theme setup is so much better than the 3-D model website. Theme is very important in a project because the audience needs to understand the main aspect of your project. If you don't have a good theme or a decent background then the audience will be perplexed. The background setup in the 3-D model website does not attract me at all.  That is why I AM NOT GOING TO USE THE 3-D MODEL WEBSITE. The reason i rated the theme a three is because the theme will not be as specific as the Comic Book.

The number i gave for creativity was a three. A 3-D model will offer a semi-large amount of creativity because you can edit it to your own personal interests.  The 3-D model has a decent amount of creativity. You can personally edit it based on the things you like and the colors, borders, decorations, etc. But the question is, "How will I find everything on the 3-D model google website?" I'll probably get lost in the process and won't know where to look for things. Since i might not use this tool for my design cycle project then i shouldn't really worry about not being able to find everything. If i was using it in my design cycle then i would be worrying about the website. I'll probably go ask ask.com haaa. The reason why i gave creativity a three is because i don't think its a very creative tool.

The number i gave for Simplicity is a four because a 3-D model is very simple to construct physically, but in the computer I'm not so sure about the simplicity.. You can easily make a 3-D model.  I would perfer making a physical 3-D model with a poster rather than doing it on the computer. The hard part to it is that you need to label the specific ideas in order to engage your audience; if not they'll be lost and have trouble understanding the concept. This is why i believe a Comic Book will be more challenging because of the different pages and having to deal with all the specific details. Therefore. the reason why i gave simplicity a 4 is because i believe its really easy to do in person, but in a computer - not so much.
